hey guys through this topic i want to know what kind of response does indian movies get there.are there also promos shown there as the promos of the eng. movies shown here,are people over there excited to see indian movied(pther than indians),who is the most fav. indian star.

Oh hell yea... Whenever I goto the Indian Stores to rent a new Bolly Flick, there's atleast ONE Spanish/Mexican, White American etc looking for one too...
Some BlockBusters [ One of the biggest chains for American Movie Rentals ] have a dedicated section for Indian Movies!!
The most sort after actor among non-indians is Shah Rukh Khan !! The Mexican chicks are all GAGA over him!
Bollywood has gained immense popularity in the US with the recent emergence of well known celebs like Aish!! .. Now, I can't go thru a segment of popular sitcoms like *Everybody Loves Raymond* or *Sex & The City * w/o having Aish pop up atleast once in a Maybelene [sp?] commercial!!...Plus, the fact that she's bagging a few Holly Flicks here and there..
What else, I've lost count on how many times I've run into Bollywood Celebs in New York City!!! Hell I had Karan *Gay* Johar and Manish *Gay2* Malhotra walk into my Store in Manhattan, NY in Nov'05!
Plus, spotting a SRK or Preity Zinta etc is no surprise while walking in NYC and quite frankly, I wouldn't recognize half of'em offscreen!! especially Manisha Koirala !! :: yuk! ::
I think indian movies are extremely popular overseas too most of them like them because of their indian connection and others because they find it unique one reason being that only indian movies has songs in the film.bollywood blockbusters like dilwale dulhaniya le jayenge,kuch kuch hota hai are all time hits overseas and becoz of the immense popularity of the stars many international shows as well as many award shows are held abroad every year.Bollywood's budgets still do not compare to Hollywood's budget but still these films are equally appreciated every where.According to me the most popular actors are amitabh bacchan,shahukh khan,priety zinta,aishwarya rai.
