THere is a lot of debate on this in indian media due to time magazine article sometime back. It had picked two indian movies in 100 best movies world over including bombay and appu.
Let us list the 10 best hindi movies we have enjoyed over the years

Chupke Chupke (old dharminder and amitabh)

Dil Chahta Hai (just LOVE this movie)

Any Rajender Kumar movie...i rate him 2 steps above Amitabh, this guy is the real legend, not Big B

rajender kumar was called the jubilee star. He was also poor mans dilip kumar. He has acted in some good romantic movies with great stars. even in his time which if i am not mistaken was with the trio of dilip kumar, dev anand and raj kappor. I dont think he was on the same level of popularity as the trio.
I think yours would be a lone opinion on rajender kumar being a bigger star than amitabh. sorry i disagree |

i enjoyed HDDCS, Saajan, Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai (and yes I know its a copy!!), Saatiya
will remember some more later- probably at a time when it is extremely irrelevant |
