Ten wickets in a test match is a rare and precious thing for any bowler, even more so if your a new zealand bowler who recently got knighted and your in the middle of annihilating the cream of Aussy batting.
During the Brisbane test in the 1985/6 series, Sir Richard Hadlee had just ripped through the first 8 Aussy wickets and was fielding. He found himself underneath a skier from aussy tailender Geoff Lawson (a batsman unlike to resist Hadlee on any day, never mind a '8-for' day!) Sir Richard did his duty, kissing goodbye to his great opportunity to rewrite history books, and pocketed the catch with ease, giving Vaughan Brown his first wicket of the day.
Talk about unselfishness!
hadlee finished on an AGONISING 9-52, the guy never got so close again
