I am shocked. Great player and lovely to watch. Was always amongst the favourite of my Aussies espicially that series in India. He playeda pure beaut there and was one reason they conquered the final frontier.
However in honesty, what a lack of character. Not too sound rude, but I mean it wasn't like he was dropped. Everyone goes through a slump and answer is not jsut retire. The answers is gut it out and fight it out, espicially when you proved you had the class before.
Plus seeing how he got out in the secodn innings, was a one day dismissal not test, so he should not be disheartened. The next pitch will be a spinners which will suit Marty.
Martyn's decision has shocked the cricketing world. This sudden announcement has certainly taken me by surprise. But his decision has logic and we should respect his decision.
One of the juggernaut's of the aussie battering machine. He was undone by the selectors. A great talent never recognized in full by the aussie selectors. Surely signing of by winning the ashes was the order of the day. Something just doesnt seem right.
