Bangladesh looks to be a better side than one year ago. I will not be surprised if they make some upsets in this World Cup. They will play against India first and I expect a good match.

Yes Bangladesh looks alot better than the minnows and are very capable of an upset. From what the sources tell me they have improved dramatically over a year or two. You look how strong their under-19 team is. Its ranked second after India and were one of the favourites to win the world cup. Unfortunately they lost to England under 19, a team who they beat 3 one day matches in a row just a few months back. They beat pakistan in their opening rounds and later pakistan won the world cup (under 19). These young players mostly fill up the Bangladesh squad now and shows the growth of Bangladesh cricket. Also their facilities have developed around the country, they have open various acadamies and traning facilites and not to mention some internation cricket venues. Oh yes they could create an upset. Could be an interesting match.

Well said emjay. I hope India will win against Bangladesh. I am not sure who is presently coaching Bangladesh, but he is doing a great job. If they do well in this cup we can safely say that we have one more serious country in the list. |

I also could not remember who is the present coach? On searching around I found emjay is right. It's Dave Whatmore who has made the turnaround possible.

So, it is against India. We must say it was not India's day yesterday. They batted poorly except Saurav, Yuvraj and the last wicket partnership between Zaheer and Munaf. But overall Bangladesh has done very good in this form of cricket.

If Bangladesh can beat Sri Lanka as well then the whole equation will change. I am very happy to see the inspired Bangladeshi team in the World Cup.

Sri Lanka brought Bangladesh back to the ground level. Now the Bangladesh captain will understand why people are not taking their gap wins not too seriously.

this maybe a good thing as we are now playing against a sri lankan team who are already through. they may now give some of the squad a game, and this may give us a chance

Now South Africa got a taste of that too. I will be interested to know whether this win changes any equation in the Super 8's?
