the BCCI has also highlighted changes in the make up of the team, giving youger players a go at international level. These are my choices for the test and ODI teams.
TEST:
1. Jaffer
2. Sehwag/Gambhir/Yuvraj
3. Dravid (c)
4. Tendulkar (provided he is given full lisence to play his natural game)
5. Tiwary (deserves a chance after such a good domestic record)
6. Yuvraj/Ganguly (if Ganguly is retained then Yuvraj to opener)
7. Karthik
8. Kumble
9. Pathan/Bose
10. Zaheer
11. Sreesanth
(12th Man) Amit Mishra (could be used on a more turning wicket)
ODI:
1. Ganguly
2. Tendulkar/Jaffer (if Sachin is allowed to play freely and not forced into an anchor role then Sachin open, otherwise Jaffer)
3. Dravid (c)
4. Sehwag/Tendulkar (if Jaffer opens)
5. Yuvraj
6. Karthik/Kaif
7. Dhoni
8. Pathan/Agarkar
9. Mishra
10. Zaheer
11. Bose/Gagandeep Singh
(12th Man) Ramesh Powar
Unfortunately, I would still have to go with Dravid as captain but only due to a lack of alternatives.
Team India For ODI should be selected on base of 2011 WC, players whose age will fall >35 in 2011, we have to say bye rightnow to them, let them play Test for their records..
So Our trimoorties (Siva, Bramma n Vishnu) has to leave in first plzce , yeah boss i mean Sachin, Dravid n Ganguly; Kumble also.., (there is no question abt performance its only for WC2011)
Other four shoul be new faces to Indian team, we select 20 players now n they should play 2011 WC.. 20should be all rounders
Lose is part of game; but to takle it is a matter to selectors.. If Team India want to get back their name in world Cricket.. should be brave in selection..
well the thing is ... these players even though over 35 have the right attitude and are extremely competitive. Australia are proving that it doesnt matter how old you are, you can still be competitive.
Id rather have competitive, fighters like ganguly, dravid, tendulkar and zaheer, than the younger un-interested money and fame driven who think that because they are young and talented are bigger than the game.
People like Dhoni (in tests anyway, talented but no 50's speaks for itself), Harbajhan (seems uninterested and lacking hunger), Pathan (his post hat-trick form shows his complacency), Sehwag (lacks maturity and responsibility).
All of these guys are unbelievably talented, yet underperforming. Time to teach these guys a lesson and kick them out and force them to earn their spot back. Unlike Tendulkar, ganguly, dravid and zaheer who have gone abroad and played county cricket in an attempt to improve their game, the rest have sat on their backsides waiting for a lucky day to turn their form around.
bottom line, India's failure in this world cup was due to ATTITUDE not AGE
yes I agree age is not matter when attitude speaks, but Indian physics is totally differ from other country players, Old in indian team are physically not strong and not 100% fit, then why should they get chance again.. .when young ready to take challenge..
Getting out these senior players from team, i feel some positive points..
1. If Little Master, Dada and The Wall can punish by selection commity, then it will be the last scenario for heros in a team, means hero image on player will gone on all others ( which not supposed with players when they are in pitch)
2. When player become hero, he is there in a team more than 10 years; its difficult to others get into the team.. Bcaz of these three heros we get lot of difficult in replacing players in last few years.
3. i feel Kaif is gud player, he lose his spot in team bcaz he always came at 6th down to play, recent time top orders fail to score runs then blame went on him.. No one player can score 50 or 100 in at 6th down in all games even he is from Australia ( Ex Great Hussey's last three match score).. the next player in Indian team for this list is Dhoni...
Its all about hu to use players...
So this is the right time to send our heros out, only they will out from the team, but they wil remain as hero amoung us bcaz of their records.. u don't forget taht.. after all im great fan DADA.. but i don't like the way he played in WC.. ( When Uttappa stuggled to face Vass, as a senior player he should took strike and allowed uttappa to play natural game in a other end)

If you are going to play Ganguly then why not make him the captain? He is best suited for the position while Dravid should be left to bat. _________________ http://ecricks.ning.com :: A social network for Cricket fanatics worldwide.
I agree on the team but I do not agree with Jaffer and where is Raina? He is the player on whom Chappell has heaped praise. Regarding Dravid as captain, are we choosing him out of compulsion?
It's not about age, it's about performance. If a player can perform at any given match then he should play. Alongwith the seniors there should be juniors as well. We should be having two players for each position. Then everyone will be performing.
tbh the only problem we hav had for a while is we dont hav a major strike bowler like Shane Bond or Shaun Tait becuase if u think bak to the world cup we cud hav won every game in the group stage because firstly against Bangladesh wen they wer 80 odd for 3 we needed a quick strike bowler to get 1 or 2 wickets at tht stage to finish the game and also against Sri lanka they wer 53/2 once again if we tuk a wicket or 2 at tht stage wiv a strike bowler we wud hav won cos ther wud hav bin less pressure on the batsmen.
If the selecters are really interested in reviving Indian cricket, they should bring in the maximum number of youngsters for the Bangla tour. Ignore the so called "Seniors". They are spent force, only interested in sticking into the team by influence, just to make money in advertisements. No more hero worship. Throw them out and provide chance to talented yougsters, from any part of the country. No partiality in this and performence only should be counted. In my view, Harbajan also should go out making way for a young spinner. He is no more effective at all. Even if we lose some matches at the beginning, do not worry. The focus should be long-term and so, the only choice is talented "Youngsters".
Yes India. You are correct again in your assessment. We needed someone to strike in the middle overs. The reason is what you have specified but even with the same resources Dravid could have handled the situation better. If I am correct Munaf was not used as the opening bowler. He was brought in as a chage bowler. Agarkar is useful better in the middle overs.
Yeh ur rite Agarkar wud hav bin better in the middle but problem wiv him is he lacks aggresion i think sumtimes and sum1 like Sreesanth shud hav played instead of Agarkar to add sum aggresion and pace to Indias bowlng. Also who is that Bose guy cos i havnt heard of him befor?????
i think VRV Singh is a promising quick bowler he just needs more experience and caoching also what on earth has happened to Nehra and Balaji these two guys if u remember back to 2004 won us the one day and test series against pakistan
Bose is Ranadev Bose from Bengal-East Zone. He is a very promising fast bowler. He was the highest wicket taker in Ranji this year. He troubled all teams and he is instrumental in Bengal's recent success.
