In the most important match against Bangladesh he took batting on a wicket which was a devil in the morning. Anyone else would have taken bowling there. We have seen such poor decisions from him earlier also.
His batting is also a failure. He is basically a batsman from the bygone era of 90's when batsmen used to score 50 from 80+ balls. He has been made captain again and I can't see a better future. |

| Dravid should not have taken the captaincy again. I feel India needed a bold and agressive captain on whose words all the players can give their best. |

As now my suggestions means nothing because BCCI has already announced Dravid as the captain for Bangladesh tour, still I feel he is not the right choice. He is simply not a Captain material.
It's simple India needs win and India needs confidence. India needs someone as leader who can show the rest of the guys how to turn it around. Ganguly has done it in the past, he is among runs after his comeback and he is confident. If he is willing to take the role of the captain then Ganguly should be the right choice and make Yuvraj as the vice captain. I feel with added responsibilities Yuvraj will perform better hopefully. |

| nah i dont think dravid is in terms of being captain because his record isnt too bad he is calm he is knowledgable and it most deffinately does not effect his batting like Ponting he is a consistant batsmen and can handle the pressure he is india's BEST BATSMEN and always will be of this era. |

We need to understand the capabilities of an individual. This is very important. Sachin, Ganguly, Yuvraj from India, Ponting - Australia, Fleming - New Zealand, Smith - South Africa all are agressive in their approach on field. If you look at their style you will find all of them are agressive batsmen as well. In a team of 11 players everyone has their own role. As there are the need of agressive players there are also need of solid defense in a team. Players who can defend and build innings. Rahul Dravid is as per my opinion at present the best batsmen in the defensive mould of frame.
My reading of a successful captain is the man needs to be a constant thinker and strategist who can change the situation with successive moves. Successful Captains have shown they can win matches without even taking active part in the game. Just by inspiring the team it can be done. I have not seen any such contribution from Rahul to say that he is a right choice for a captain. A person with a defensive mindset can never get big success. They can only achieve moderate success. So unless we are going to remain happy with 3 wins in 10 matches played we need to look seriously into the captains role. |

If only Sreesanth gets to play in the final eleven, lol.
I agree with boy99. It's a good observation. Yes, captains are there to show the way and if necessary make changes so that it works good for the team. |

| Kumble or Sourav in the tests is my choice else make Yuvraj captain for both the Tests and One dayers. Let him build his own team and see the result. |

| When everything is being changed and players like Sachin has been made to sit outside, so why Dravid was spared? What has he done to keep his position in the team and his captaincy? Yuvraj will be a good captain. |
