I just wanted to stress that Indian fans are the best in the world! We love cricket - good cricket and without a doubt India losing to Sri Lanka earlier this year broke more than a billion hearts! The sport needed big teams like India and Pakistan to make it through to the Super 8s. The stage was set.
As a fan, who does not earn enough money, saving for this once in a lifetime opportunity to watch cricket in the Caribbean was a dream come true. It would have been fantastic to watch team India, wear the colours, chant the songs, shout out loud in support of team India! It was not meant to be for whatever reason.
The debate on Indian cricketers being overpaid, or focussing too much on sponsorship deals rather than the cricket without a doubt will go on. What we must not forget is that the responsibility does not just lie with the players but also management and ultimately the BCCI.
Corruption in this game is like bacteria. It spreads and consumes at the very core of what makes India beautiful. It eats away at the passion for the game. We need players to play for their country. The BCCI should only select players that show their passion for the game, the drive to succeed and ultimately are willing to go out there and play not for themselves but for their Country and the millions of Indian fans! The BCCI needs to throw out politicals and focus on making Indian cricket the Best in the World! Because that's where it should be.
It's time to select a manager that CARES for Indian cricket. The players know how to play the game - and they should PLAY! Physical and Mental fitness will only make this team great. Restructure and re-invigorate the team, management and players.
One thing is for sure, the fans deserve to see their side play BRILLIANTLY...even if India loses but have truly TRIED... it will be enough for the fans. The fans will never lose their passion for the game, so why has the institution of Indian cricket and all those that represent India?
