What a turn of fortunes! Are the rain Gods on the Indian cricket's pay roll?
In Lord's it could be considered 'fortune favours the brave' although India's batting did them in by far in the first Test. Kartik's survival with Ganguly at the end of the fourth day with Sourav Ganguly and Dhoni's run on the final day saved India the blushes but barely.
The second Test was practically washed out by the media going berserk with the rain deluge and further predictions. But apart from disrupting the start, little has gone wrong for India. England's submission was almost complete overnight on day one. The conditions were good but it was also India's bowling came together with Zaheer Khan and RP Singh. The only surprising bit has been Sreesanth who seemed to be struggling at the second venue in succession. If he can make a comeback like he did in the second innings at Lord's, it should pose an interesting game for England.
Bowled out for a meagre but not embarrassing total, England have an uphill climb ahead of them as the Indian openers and Kartik in particular seemed determined to sail India through. A century to the Indian innings and the England team is facing a battle on their hands. Could this be India going one up in an away series? Or are we getting ahead of the action? All eyes on the action then!
Very good site. Thank you!!!
