Okay, taking nothing away from India who were superb(thank god because we need some healthy competition), but a few points I wanted to raise.

1)Haddin - Why are we playing him as a specialist batsman? He is the heir apprarent to Gilly and will be a great keeper/batsman. But is he in the best 7 batsmen in Australia? No, so why are we playing him in the team. What about Hodge, D Hussey etc or the other batsman? IMO we took India for granted and thought we would walk it in.

2)Batting by lower order - Did any of you guys see the dismissals of Johnson and Bracken? What were those guys thinking? It was obvious that we needed to bat out the 50 overs, and they just needed to hang around to give support to Hussey. So, what do they do, they go for the tonk and we get bowled out with 8 overs to go.

3)Field placements - It is obvious the only way we would win the game is by bowling India out. So why the conservative field placements? IMO Ponting sets too defensive field placements. I thought that watching some of the test matches too.

Any comments?

For starters I would not have haddin in the side as a batsman, I would probably go for someone like Voges or Noffke as he can also bat. I think Hodge has blown his chance in ODI's.
I noticed it was not untill Dhoni and Sharma were at the crease did Ponting change his field to attacking and that did slow the run rate a lot.
The Aussies had a decision go against them when Tendulkar was out on twenty or thirty when he edged one off Stuart Clark, then there were numerous times where Dhoni and Sharma were just missing the outside edge....But full credit to the Indian bowlers they did a great job.
This just builds for a great game in the next ODI.

Once again, the same question.

Why are Australian selectors playing Brad Haddin as a specialist batsman?????? Rolling Eyes

We have David Hussey(who IPL are paying nearly $800,000) in the wings but we never play him. Crazy. He is a better batsman than Haddin.

Hey Einstein, did you figure it out all on your own? Why not do it then and get rid of these sooks? We can all beat the Poms and the Kiwis and everyone would be happy again.
