The former England opening batsman Jack Hobbs had scored 61,237 runs in his first class career at 50.70
He scored 5410 runs at 56.94 in 61 tests
The most notable thing here is that he made 199 first class centuries (15 in tests). He went on to play first class cricket until he was 52! Of his 199 first class centuries, 99 came after he was 40. An example of the word stamina
He still holds the world record for the oldest man to make a test hundred, at 46! |

First get a place in a test team |

| We have a hockey player (Detroit Red Wings) Chris Chelios, who I believe was also in his late 40's while still playing. I think he was 47 or 48? I think he just retired, though. He was one of our best defensive players. |
