When Shahryar resigned, my first reaction was, oval fiasco. Was it something too big to shake top stake holders in Pakistan cricket just like that?
But now i beleive that there were things that were not OK in the board. Right from the start, it was something bigger than the inclusion of Faisal Iqbal in the squad. YK took a stance against elements we still and might never know and came out sort of victorious. If Yk wasnt reinstated, his confidence would have totally shattered .
Mushtaq Ahmed may feel hard done but he never belonged to coach's community. With Wasim around who still says they never approached him fer coaching, getting Mushtaq in was raising eyebrows all over.
Shahryar is a loss to Pak cricket but lets hope the person hes made way for does a better job.
Things are really moving at a rapid pace, Sheryar resigning, Dr. Nasim being made the President and he reinstates YK, seems the problem YK had was something to do with Sheryar because that is the only thing that has changed since he resigned captaincy till getting it back.
Dr. Nasim Ashraf is no one new to the PCB he was a member of the adhoc committee under Sharyar and was even present at the Oval ground on that fateful day. He is a Medical Doctor by profession based in or was based in USA prior to Musharraf government if i am not wrong he is a cardiologist of some repute. He is also heading the National Commission for Human Development and has the status of Minister of State and is also an Advisor to the President. I dont see any wholesale changes in the setup considering Dr. Nasim Ashraf was part and parcel of the decision makers although it does seem that he has a better relationship with the players considering YK had no qualms about taking over Captaincy once Sheryar was gone.
I might be wrong but i think status quo will remain but you can never be sure in case of Pakistan cricket.
