There are many players in the world who have got immense talent than sachin tendulkar. sachin tendulkar was lucky and is playing cricket for more than 18 years. He is not a good player down the order,he can only bat well opening the innings.
If players like hayden, gilchrist, kallis,gibbs play cricket for 15 years they would be regarded as the best players than sachin tendulkar.
He says that he is proud playing cricket for 18 years, what that means- the inability of bcci to produce young players for 18 years!
He is still scoring more runs than all of those guys.
Playing for 18 years speaks for his dedication and fitness. As for finding young players, look at the age, Matthew Hayden started his carrier. All Gilchrist can do is swing the bat and hope for the best.
